Pretty rough

Today's workout consisted of 6x 400's. We ususally start off with a slow run to warm up and thats about a mile then we start our 400's. We run a pretty decent pace a 400 the run slow for 400 until you get to 6 fast 400's then we do another slow mile cooldown. Today was pretty darn rough I'm not gonna lie!! I started out all peppy but after the 3rd 400 I was wanting to throw up! But I finished and finished strong too!! I just remember during the cooldown run that my body hurts and if it's like this at 4.5miles then how will I ever be able to do more mileage?!?! But, I know I wasn't in my right frame of thinking and that this is all part of the training. I'll get there and I'll be fine. Friday is a rest day....can I get a WOOT!! WOOT!!

Not 5 miles...

Okay so in yesterday's post I put that today was going to be a 5 mile run. Nope it was a scheduled 4.5mile run. When I woke this morning it was doing a light drizzle. By the time the girls were due to get on the school bus it was raining a little harder. Therefore, I decided to do my run on the dreadmill. It actually wasn't that bad. I did a 11:19 average pace and sprinted the last 200. All in all the time went pretty darn fast.

So, I stretch and text Kyle my time and that I did my run on the dreadmill just for him to respond with his time and that not only did he run in the rain, he was also dragging from the baby waking him up at 4:20am. Wow =( Nothing like making you feel like a big fat whimp!! Whateve!! =)

Tomorrow's plan will be 60min elliptical with abs!!

It totally AMAZES me that my body is able to do these runs and even though I get tired towards then end (aren't we suppose to?) I still feel very strong!!

My run of 4miles Sunday was absolutely AWESOME!! I got out there at 7:30am and just ran the neighborhood. Was so nice not dealing with traffice. I ran in my neighborhood which I ususally don't do. I loved it and the weather was just wonderful!!

Tomorrow's plan is to run 5miles.

Beautiful run

Today's run was for 4.5 miles with a pace of 11:56. I got the girls on the bus and headed down to the bike route. All I can say is that it was such a beautiful run!! My pace was a little fast for what was called for which was 11:21 average pace and it should have been the 11:56. Oh well!! It felt good and I really could have kept running too! The morning was cool and just made it that more enjoyable.

Tomorrow's workout will be 45min on the elliptical then some abs.

My World is Right....

So on Tuesday I went to Gatlinburg with nine of my homies like we do every year at this time. We usually stay 4-5 days and just relax, drink tons of coffee, eat, shop, watch movies, talk, and sleep!! It's WONDERFUL! We all left Tuesday morning and come back Saturday. However, I had to come back Thursday due to being in my aunt's wedding. So, my getaway didn't last long but I am looking forward to seeing this gal get married....finally;) Alot of people always ask me how do 10 women get together and spend that much time with eachother without killing one another. Well this group of women has just always clicked. We range in age from early 30's to early 50's. We can all sit and talk and laugh until the wee hours of the morning. I'm not sure as to why our group clicks but I'm thankful that it does. We can go for days, weeks even, and not talk due to life's busy schedule but when we do talk it's like we just pick up where we left off. We are always there for one another too!! There is nothing that I wouldn't do for them and I know (because they have proven it time and again) there is nothing that they wouldn't do for me! I love my homies =)

So, now on for a recap of my working out schedule and what has been done.

Sunday: 4mile run on bike route
Monday: Worked out with Kyle
Tuesday: Off
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: Track repeats.... 10min wrmup run, 400 plus 2 800's then a 10min cdwn run
Friday: 45min. Elliptical

My plan for tomorrow is to workout with Kyle then Sunday is a 3.5mile run. The days have been nice and cool which makes these runs so much more enjoyable. I love running outside and all the smells of Fall.

My 5k is the Ghost and Goblins run on October 26th at 6:30. This is a very fun 5k from what I hear and has a great turnout. My big question is this.....Should I go in costume and if so what shoud I go as?? Hmmmm.....any thoughts?

Loving this training schedule

Sometimes it's just nice having a workout schedule. Just knowing what days are going to be runs and what days are going to be cross-training days. Today was a scheduled 4mile easy pace run. I had played in a sand volleyball tournament yesterday so I wasn't sure how my legs were going to handle the run. It wasn't too hateful. I really worked at trying to keep at my set pace and it actually was perfect. My legs felt a little like they had some heavy weights in them but once I set out and got my body into a nice comfortable pace it wasn't too bad.

I also listened to my ipod this time around. That was nice for a change and it made for the run to go by faster. Do you ever have those runs that you kinda dread getting out and doing but it turns out to be one of your better runs? That wasn't tonight but almost. I have had those runs though that I would have given anything to not have to do but did and they turned out to be one of my greatest runs. Even on those bad runs though, I truly love it when I'm done and glad that I have ran.

Tonight I was reading one of my favorite blogs over at Shut up and Run. Beth has been very inspiring to me. Like tonight she talks about mentally getting yourself ready for a long run. And I truly believe she is right. Once you get yourself mentally prepared for your long run it truly helps. Thanks for being such a great motivator Beth!!

Three Things Thursday

1) Finally got to workout this morning! Had to take a few days off from my routine due to dental work...blah!! But today I worked out with Kyle doing light weights and very light cardio.

2) Finally went to get fitted for my matron of honor dress!! Ummm the wedding is a week from this Saturday....Yea!! Nothing like cutting it short!!

3) Took my oldest daughter Ashley a chocolate cake to her work today!! Just because=)

Tomorrow's workout will be track repeats: 10min warmup mile then 400's x 5 at about 10:43pace. In between slower 400's at about 11:56pace. Then a 10min cool down. This will be my first time doing them by myself and on the treadmill. I usually do these with Kyle. So, we will see how it goes.

Loving it

This morning as I was outside on my side porch drinking my coffee, I was just itching to get out there and start my run. Today's scheduled run was for 4 miles and believe it or not, I was pretty excited!!

I finished my coffee and had a quick bowl of oatmeal. The temp outside was 50 degrees and sunny. Once my coffee and oatmeal settled I got my running clothes and shoes on and headed out. I got to the bike route about 8:45a.m. There were a few people already there getting ready to ride their bikes. There was one guy there that had just finished his run and it looked like a good one. I got my garmin out, set it, and then took off. I made sure that I kept myself at a nice consistant pace and making sure that I wasn't trying to speed up. This was probably one of the best runs that I have had in a while. Everything just felt good. The weather, my breathing, my legs, just all fell together and made of a GREAT run. My average pace was 11:17. Getting a little better.

Tomorrow's workout will be 45min or 60min on the elliptical.

Finally!!

Ohhhhhh this weather is just PERFECT!! Right now the temp is 61 degrees with a breeze!! I love it! Too bad this isn't a run day because this is my kinda weather to run in!! Oh well.

Yesterday's run was 3.5miles and my average pace was 11:25. I had to fight to keep that pace because I was finding myself wanting to run faster. The weather was overcast with a bit of humidity but not hot. The air was just a little thick.

Today's workout is weight training with Kyle.

Clearing my head

So last night I went with Kyle to the bike route to do our track repeats. I was a little nervous about doing these tonight(well each time they are on the schedule I get nervous) because of the heat and they were to be a little longer. Once we set out though it wasn't bad at all. The heat was probably the worst of it!! I need to figure out a way of getting over the fear of when we add more mileage or longer track repeats. Kyle says I just need to clear my head and just do what I can do. Easier said than done but I do have to try. I often wonder what other runners are thinking of when they go to run. Are they thinking the same thing? Oh well, I guess it's just something that I have to work on. So here is last nights workout...

Track repeats total miles 3.5

Today's workout was weights and abs.

Wooohooo!! Welcome September

September is finally here!! YAY!! However, the heat did not leave with August...ugh!! I love September! It's the sign of Fall to me and I love EVERYTHING about Fall!! The change of the trees, the cooler temps, getting out all the Fall decorations, you name it I love it!! I am looking forward to the cooler temps too!!

Monday's workout was a scorcher and I pretty much hated every minute of it! The plan was for a 3.5miler with a 11:58 pace but it wound up being a average pace of 10:51. I had to stop for a couple times just to catch my breath. The humidity was just so thick and I have such a hard time breathing in it!

Tuesday's workout was 45min easy elliptical and then 13 laps in the pool. Not too bad for a cross-training day!

Tonights schedule is suppose to be track repeats. I'm a little nervous because today is another hot and humid day. The plan is to go a little later in the evening so hopefully that will help. Tell ya how it goes tomorrow=)
