Turkey Trot

Saturday: Off
Sunday: 30min elliptical
Monday: Weights, abs and a 3mile walk with Kyle
Tuesday: Jogged a short 2.50 miles

So yesterday I wrapped my ankle then headed out for a short 2.50miles to test my ankle. Not sure if it was the wrap but my ankle felt good and I was completely thrilled with that! I think I'm gonna wrap my ankle for the Turkey Trot tomorrow. This is a 5mile run and I plan on taking my time. Not gonna worry about my pace. It is a 100% chance of rain too so I don't want to take any chances on slipping, twisting or do whatever on hurting myself. I will try to get some pics but with the rain who knows!

Thankful for the little things such as, coffee, compression socks, kisses from kiddies, second chances, that extra mile, that piece of cake and for so much more of the little things life gives us!!

Happy Thanksgiving =)

Not now PLEASE!!!

So my 7mile run was wonderful!!! I ran it in 1hr 16mins. Thats good for me. This was a tempo run with a 1 mile slow run, 2 mile at tempo, 1 mile slow, 2 mile tempo then 1 mile slow. I did these miles in the time that I was suppose to except the last mile. I was going a little too fast still and wanted to quit with a half mile still to go. But I didn't. I looked at my Garmin and seen that I was running too fast and so I slowed down just a bit and that helped. So, all in all I couldn't believe that I finished it, enjoyed, and was proud of it!!

Thursday's workout was some serious weights and if felt great! After my run from Wednesday my left ankle on the inside of my leg was a little sore but felt better with a little bit of stretching.

Friday was a 5 mile run and I couldn't wait to get out there. Before my run I did about 20min of light stretching. At the start of my run I didn't feel anything in my ankle. Then about into mile 2 I could feel it but not enough to stop. Then about mile 3 it was there and pretty sore. I kept going until I couldn't go anymore and that took me to 4.30miles. So discouraging!! I have made it thus far into my training plan with no aches or pains......only a little bit of stiffness. I have been icing it and it feels fine just with walking and I'm going to try and do the elliptical later today. So we will see. No running for now at least until Thursday when I run the 5 mile turkey trot! I have also been wearing a brace off and on but like I said it feels fine just walking. I'm wondering if I should wear the brace during my turkey trot? What do you think?

Awesome run!!!

Yesterdays Thankful #4

I am very much thankful for my husband who works very hard and that allows me to be a stay at home Mom!!

Workout

Worked out with weights concentrating on legs. We did step ups with 35lbs in each hand, lunge backs with 30lbs in each hand, side step ups with 30lbs in each hand and we did a few arms. After we left and went to the bike path and ran 4miles. It felt really good to get back out there and since this was the first long run since my 5k, I felt really, really good. Slow, but good!!

Thankful #5

So thankful for those runs that just feel good and that my body is in that good of a shape that it feels good with it!!

Workout

Today's workout was to do a very slow 5miles. So after a morning of errands I was able to get back around lunch and head down to the bike path. I set my garmin and my Ipod and headed out! At first I was just trying to get a good rythm going and once I did there was no stopping!! I felt really awesome on this run. Breathing was right, legs and feet felt great, and I could have just kept going..........and I did. Only for another mile making it a 6 mile run but it felt great!! If I had runs like this more often I would probably run every single day!!!! My pace was nothing to write home about but that's not what I was after. I was just wanting to get back out there and get it done. So 6miles with an average pace of 11:41!!

Now it's off to get ready for date night!!

Unexpected day off......

Today did not go as I had planned. Ever have those days?? Being a mom to nine kids sure has it's advantages and I do have good days but every now and then there is a not so good day thrown in. That's why I run.... Today I was suppose to do some type of cross-training but it turned into a day off. I'll have to make it up Friday. Tomorrow will be a 4mile run and I am so looking forward to it!!

Thankful #3:

Even though there are very stressful days when it comes to my children, I am still very much thankful that I got chosen to be their mom!

Speaking of runs, I went for a planned 2miles and then a 10min walk this morning. This was the first run since my 5k. First though I did boxing and weights with Kyle this morning. So lets go back to last week to update what I have done to this point.

Wednesday: Off

Thursday: Toning and weights w/Kyle

Friday: 45min elliptical then a 15min walk on the TM

Saturday: Elliptical and weights w/Kyle

Sunday: Off

Monday: Boxing and weights w/Kyle then a 2mile run and a 10min. walk

Tomorrow's plan is to do 30min elliptical and then a 10min run on the TM.

How was everybody's Halloween? We had a blast this year!! I only have the younger two who went out this year and my 14yr old girlie dressed up as Taylor Swift but didn't go out. Come on, you know it's way more cool to pass the candy out at this age. I'm not sure if the younger two will even go next year. My thoughts on that is maybe we should just do a Halloween party with costumes and have some of their friends over. We'll see.........here is a pic of...ooohh my...this may be too frightening.......
